We are LiCom ready

Mission

We enable low-voltage fast charging

We have made it our mission to advance fast charging in the low-voltage sector. Low-voltage systems (48V or 96V) offer many advantages, but charging remains a challenge. Only a cross-manufacturer standard can solve this problem and improve market acceptance. That is why we support the LiCom (VDE 0622) standard and offer solutions for machine OEMs, battery manufacturers, and charger manufacturers.

Our Product Portfolio

We are convinced that a standard will only gain widespread adoption if the barrier to entry is as low as possible. That is why we offer products that enable easy industrialization

01

LiCom (VDE 0622)

The LiCom Standard, defined in the VDE V 0622 pre-standard (draft as of 2025), specifies charging connectors for lithium-ion batteries in industrial trucks like forklifts, establishing a unified mechanical and electrical interface for safe low-voltage DC fast charging. It supports voltage ranges up to 120 V DC and currents up to 500 A, including power contacts, data communication for status monitoring, and safety features beyond pure power transfer. This emerging norm aims to standardize off-highway applications (e.g., 48–96 V systems), with final publication pending, promoting interoperability in warehouse and logistics equipment.

LiCom Charging Board

The LiCom Charging Board (LCB) is a modular hardware solution that enables LiCom-compliant charging functionality within off-board chargers. It integrates the required communication, control, and safety mechanisms defined by the LiCom standard, allowing seamless interaction between charger and battery system. Designed for low-voltage DC applications up to 120 V and high currents, the LCB connects the charger’s power stage to the LiCom interface without requiring fundamental redesign of existing hardware. For charger manufacturers, this means a fast and reliable way to make their charging systems LiCom-ready - reducing development effort, ensuring standard compliance, and enabling interoperability across different machines, batteries, and manufacturers.

LiCom Vehicle Interface

The LiCom Vehicle Interface (LVI) is a compact integration module that enables vehicles or battery systems to become LiCom-compatible. It manages the communication, control, and safety functions required by the LiCom standard, ensuring a reliable interaction between the vehicle, battery, and charger. Designed for seamless integration into existing low-voltage architectures (up to 120 V DC), the LVI allows manufacturers to adopt standardized fast-charging without redesigning their core system. For customers, this means a straightforward path to LiCom readiness—reducing integration complexity, ensuring compliance, and enabling interoperability with a growing ecosystem of chargers and infrastructure.

Vision

One standard for all low-voltage applications

We are convinced that a standard for low voltage is needed, and the LiCom standard has the greatest potential to meet all requirements. In the long term, LiCom will establish itself as the CCS for low voltage.

Project Workflow

01

Requirement Analysis

We analyze the customer’s application, system architecture, and charging needs to define technical requirements and identify integration points for LiCom.

02

Concept Definition

Based on the requirements, we develop a tailored integration concept, selecting the appropriate modules (LCB, LVI) and defining system interfaces and functionality.

03

Integration & Development

We support the implementation of the solution, adapting hardware and software to ensure seamless integration into the customer’s system.

04

Testing & Validation

The system is tested under real conditions to verify performance, safety, and compliance with the LiCom standard.

05

Deployment & Support

After successful validation, we support series implementation and provide ongoing technical support to ensure reliable operation and future scalability.
